The Maple Leaf

The Maple Leaf is the monthly newsletter of the Canadian English Centre. Since its first issue in June 1995, it has been an instrument of information, promoting education and Canadian culture as part of the service of our school.

Besides the last six issues, you'll find here the first edition of The Maple Leaf. It has evolved through the years, now offering information about our method, new programs offered by our school, and always highlighting a Student of the Month. Also found in each newsletter are Tips on English Idioms, to help our students build up their vocabulary, as well as superb philosophy in the It's True section.

Since our school is a centre for Canadian culture, our newsletter always offers information on Canada. By the way, the maple leaf is one of Canada's national symbols, and is displayed on its flag.

There are also assorted short news stories taken from North American and Canadian publications. These stories are meant to give the student some extra reading practice on interesting subjects. You'll also have some fun in our Pause for a Joke section, and get to know the schedule for our Friday Practice Classes.

The Maple Leaf has a lot to offer! We hope you enjoy it!
