Denise von Schmalz
Qualifications: Denise Angeloni von Schmalz, born in Brazil and holding Italian nationality, obtained permanent Canadian resident status in 1995, making her eligible for Canadian citizenship. She maintained this status for ten years. With extensive experience in Canada, as well as additional experience in the United States, Scotland, and England, she has collaborated with her husband, Prof. Ray von Schmalz, on developing the methodology of the Canadian English Centre since before its founding.
Denise holds a degree in pedagogy and a specialization in educational psychology. In addition to her role as a teacher, she serves as the head of the Pedagogy Department at the Canadian English Centre.

Viktor von Schmalz
Qualifications: Although born in Brazil, Viktor Hans von Schmalz is a native English speaker. In 1995, as an infant, he received permanent Canadian resident status, which he held for ten years, making him eligible for Canadian citizenship. He also holds German nationality.
A Computer Systems Analyst and Developer, Viktor graduated from the Federal University of Paraná. He has extensive experience in Canada, as well as additional experience in Scotland and England. He holds a C2 Grade-A English Proficiency Certificate from the University of Cambridge, U.K.—the highest English proficiency certification issued in Europe.
Since the age of 10, Viktor has assisted his father, Prof. Ray von Schmalz, initially helping students in the school lab. By 14, he was already contributing to the development of the school's online programs. He is co-author of Reading Book One and has played a key role in creating new computer systems for the Canadian English Centre.
Beyond his contributions to education and technology, Viktor is a professional novelist. He has published three adventure books—Free Seas - Orion, Free Seas - Gemini, and Free Seas - Auriga—internationally through Amazon in the United States. He is also a talented musician and songwriter, with several productions featured on YouTube, serving as the lead singer of the band All in Four.
Currently, as a managing partner of the school, he focuses on administration, creative development, and IT, while also teaching in the online programs.

Shoji Nagatuyio
Qualifications: Shoji Nagatuyio, a Brazilian graduate of the Canadian English Centre’s Advanced Academic English Program, began his journey with the institution as a lab monitor and later as an intern. Recognizing his exceptional dedication and natural teaching talent, Prof. Ray von Schmalz invited him to join the Teacher Training Program.
Shoji holds a Bachelor's Degree in IT from the UFPR and a Business Administration Degree from FESP-PR. With nearly 30 years of experience at a large multinational company, he has developed extensive expertise in business English through daily interactions with international professionals.
Currently, Shoji is further enhancing his teaching skills through online English-teaching courses offered by the British Council at the Universities of Southampton, Reading, and Leeds in the United Kingdom. Since 2016, he has been a teacher, focusing on Books 0, 1, and 2.

Fernando Elias
Qualifications: Fernando Doszanet Elias, a Brazilian professional, has achieved academic proficiency in English, graduating at Book 5 level from the Canadian English Centre. He holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and completed a year of academic specialization at California State University in the United States. Additionally, he spent a year in Germany, where English was his sole means of communication. Fernando participated in the Canadian English Centre's Teacher Training Program, receiving direct mentorship from Prof. Ray von Schmalz. Since 2019, he has been teaching levels from Books 0 to 3, with a primary focus on Book 3.

Solange Kuchnier
Qualifications: Solange Kuchinier Pacífico holds a college degree in logistics and completed our advanced academic English program, Book 5. She served as a lab monitor for six semesters, during which she expressed her aspiration to become a teacher. This led her to join our Teacher Training Program, where she received personal mentorship from Prof. Ray von Schmalz. In the second semester of 2023, she officially became part of our staff.
Additionally, Solange has international experience in the United Kingdom and has earned international English proficiency certification from ETS in the United States and is a certified TOEFL ITP proctor. She currently teaches Book 0 and Book 1. Beyond her teaching role, she serves as the school coordinator, working directly under Prof. Ray von Schmalz. She is also currently obtaining a graduate university degree in English Language Education Methodology.
